The BIG 2017 Upcoming Product Seminar is today at Adepticon and you can feel the electricity in the air.

A few weeks back GW said this:

“Now, we’ll grant you, ‘Studio Preview’ doesn’t give much away, and we can’t tell you too much here either (lest we ruin the surprise) but we can tell you it’s not just a bunch of pictures on a powerpoint slide. Because, sure, anything we show you will end up on the internet, and even right here on the Warhammer Community site, quicker than a Speed Freek can rev his engine (it’s unofficial Ork day here in the office).

If you go to the preview event, you’ll not only get to handle a host of new miniatures, (some of which won’t be out for almost a year) you’ll get to play some games with them. And not just any game, a brand new game. On top of that, we’ve even commissioned some special dice for attendees to keep as a momento. And, that’s not even all. You’ll also get to see some new game mechanics we’ve got in mind for existing games and give us your thoughts.”

Seminar Basics

Here’s the basics of the event and what we think GW may have to show off:

  • Miniatures will be shown both in person and on slides.
  • Minitures in the production pipeline for up to a year off will be shown off.
  • Upcoming games will be on display for demos.
  • Rules alterations for existing games will be discussed.
  • Dice – everyone loves free dice!

The Usual Suspects

We’ll break some items down by system and what we know is coming, plus what the rumorsphere says.

Games?

Armageddon Shadow War  – Will almost certainly be shown off. GW pulled the covers off it at GAMA last week and the internet lost it’s mind. Necromunda is a fan favorite and it is said to be coming very very soon. I would expect it to be full display.

Adeptus Titanicus – This one has been purcolating behind the scenes and saw its first public playthrough at the last Horus Heresy Open day. GW could easily throw in a slide or two of the upcoming titans and maybe some more finalized rules.

Underworlds: Shadowspire – This was the vaguely hinted teaser game at GAMA, so it’s ripe for GW to show a little more leg.  Gamers want to know if we are talking about something close to Gorechosen, or something much more complex.

Blades of Khorne – Age of Sigmar’s all skulls all the time book came out of nowhere and it would be nice to see some details.

40K 8th Edition – The elephant in the room. WE have been hearing for months that a new edition of 40K is headed our way this summer.  Adepticon would be a great opportunity for GW to make it’s existence official and throw out some teases.

Minis?

Kharadron Overlords – People can’t wait to get their hands on the newly unveiled models from GAMA.  GW may have some samples on display and the Battletome if we are lucky.

Aelves – Rumored to be the next Age of Sigmar faction coming after the Duardim.  There is talk of a Cthuhlu theme to the range – time will tell…

Daemon Primarchs – We are all anxious to see where the grimdark will progress after Rise of the Primarch.  But it seems that more than enough hints have been placed regarding the next set of Primarchs both loyal and traitor headed our way.  I can safely say gamers will LOSE THEIR MINDS if any of them are even hinted at by GW.

Wildcard – Whatever we expect – expect the unexpected. GW has gotten quite good at pulling off grand reveals of late.

~I can hardly wait. What are most hoping for?
